Micky Laurie Psychotherapy
Therapy for Relationship Difficulties and Recurring Patterns
Individual online integrative psychotherapy with Micky Laurie, Registered Member MBACP (BACP Register no. 422410), for adults aged 18+ physically in the UK during sessions. £100 per 50 minutes; free 15-minute introductory call.
When familiar difficulties keep returning
You might notice similar tensions in friendships, family relationships or intimate relationships, even when the people involved are different. Perhaps you feel unseen, find conflict hard to bear or move between wanting closeness and needing distance. Individual therapy offers space to explore your experience without deciding in advance who is at fault.
What you may notice day to day
You might agree to things you do not want, feel responsible for keeping others happy or struggle to say when a boundary has been crossed. You may replay conversations, hold back feelings or anticipate rejection. These are possible starting points for reflection, rather than a checklist or a diagnosis. Your own understanding of the difficulty matters.
Understanding patterns in context
My integrative approach brings curiosity to how ways of relating may have developed and how they feel now. We might consider expectations of other people, what happens when you express a need, or how you protect yourself from disappointment. Looking at earlier experiences is not about blaming your family or assuming the past explains everything. It is one way to understand what has become familiar.
The relationship in therapy
Our conversations can also offer a place to notice what it is like to be listened to, to disagree or to feel uncertain about another person’s response. You can question my reflections and tell me when something feels uncomfortable or does not resonate. We can consider those moments together at a pace we agree, without making every interaction into an interpretation.
Space for your own perspective
This is individual psychotherapy, rather than couples therapy or an assessment of a partner. We cannot diagnose someone who is not present, and therapy cannot guarantee that a relationship will be repaired or should continue. The focus is your experience, your choices and the meanings you make of connection, conflict, closeness and distance.
Meeting online
We meet by an agreed video platform from a private place. You do not need to prepare a complete relationship history; we can begin with a recent experience or a recurring feeling. Ongoing sessions last 50 minutes. We discuss suitability and practical arrangements before starting, including whether you can speak freely without being overheard.
Eligibility, fees and getting started
This is online individual psychotherapy for adults aged 18 and over, physically in the UK during every session. Each 50-minute session costs £100. Reduced student fees may be agreed individually. A free, no-obligation 15-minute introductory call gives us a chance to discuss suitability. Calls and appointments are arranged personally.
