When life no longer feels familiar

A bereavement, ending, change of role or shift in circumstances may unsettle your sense of everyday life. You might know what has changed but find it hard to describe what it means. Therapy offers space to speak about loss and change without an expectation that you should already know how to move forward.

Different experiences of loss

There may be sadness, anger, uncertainty, relief or feelings that seem contradictory. Sometimes practical demands leave little room to reflect; sometimes others seem to have moved on while the loss remains present for you. These are possible experiences, not stages you are expected to pass through. We can attend to your own language and timing.

Change, identity and relationships

A transition can affect how you see yourself and how you relate to other people. You might be adjusting to a changed family role, an ending at work or a future that no longer looks as you expected. There does not have to be a bereavement for a change to feel significant. We can explore both what has been lost and the uncertainty of what comes next.

An integrative space for reflection

My work draws on humanistic, psychodynamic, existential and relational approaches. We might make room for feelings that have been difficult to share, consider how earlier losses are present now or reflect on meaning and choice. We do not need to turn grief into a problem with a fixed solution. The conversation is shaped by what feels important to you.

No prescribed timetable

There is no set timetable for what you should discuss or how you should feel in these sessions. We can talk about everyday experiences as well as larger questions. I offer questions and reflections, and we can review what feels helpful. Therapy cannot promise closure or a particular outcome; suitability and pace are considered together.

Meeting from a private place

Online sessions last 50 minutes and use an agreed video platform. You can begin with what has been on your mind rather than prepare a complete account of the loss. A private setting and a stable connection are important. Before beginning, we discuss the arrangements and whether this service is appropriate for your circumstances.

Eligibility, fees and getting started

This is online individual psychotherapy for adults aged 18 and over, physically in the UK during every session. Each 50-minute session costs £100. Reduced student fees may be agreed individually. A free, no-obligation 15-minute introductory call gives us a chance to discuss suitability. Calls and appointments are arranged personally.

Questions you may have

Is there a right time to seek therapy after a loss?
There is no prescribed timetable in this practice. We can discuss what is happening for you and whether working together feels appropriate.
Can I enquire about a life change without a bereavement?
Yes. Changes in roles, relationships and circumstances can also be explored in therapy.
Will I have to talk about everything immediately?
No. We agree the pace together, and you can begin with what feels possible to put into words.
