Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains how personal information submitted through this website is handled. It is written to be clear and accurate, and reflects the technology actually used on the site.

Who I am

This website is provided by Micky Laurie Psychotherapy, the private practice of Micky Laurie, an integrative psychotherapist offering therapy to adults online across the UK. This policy applies to information submitted through mickylaurietherapy.co.uk. If you have any question about privacy, you can contact me at hello@mickylaurietherapy.co.uk or on 07842 836 931.

Information collected through the website

This is a simple informational website. You do not need to create an account to use it, and no marketing or advertising tracking is used. Personal information is only collected if you choose to contact me through the enquiry form, or to book an introductory call or session.

Contact enquiries

The enquiry form opens your own email application so that your message is sent directly to me. I use the details you provide (your name, email address and message) solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you wish to proceed, to arrange therapy. Please avoid including highly sensitive personal or medical information in a first message.

Therapy records

If we begin working together, I keep brief clinical records as part of responsible professional practice, in line with data protection law and professional ethical guidance. Clinical records are stored securely, with access restricted to the practitioner. These records are held separately from this website.

How information is stored

Personal information is stored securely and access is limited to me. Enquiry emails are held only for as long as is needed to respond to, and where relevant act on, your enquiry.

Third-party services

This website relies on a small number of trusted third parties to function. Where they process information on my behalf, they do so under their own privacy terms.

Cal.com

Introductory calls and therapy sessions are booked through Cal.com. When you make a booking, the information you enter, such as your name, email address and any details you add, is processed by Cal.com to manage the appointment. Please refer to Cal.com's own privacy policy for details of how they handle your data.

Stripe

Payments for therapy sessions are handled securely by Stripe, through the booking system. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and I do not see or store your full card details. Please refer to Stripe's privacy policy for details of how they handle your data.

Cookies

This website does not use Google Analytics or other marketing or advertising cookies. When you book through Cal.com or make a payment through Stripe, those services may set cookies that are necessary for the booking or payment to work; these are governed by their own policies.

Data retention

Personal information is kept only for as long as there is a genuine need to retain it, after which it is securely deleted. Clinical records are retained in line with professional and legal obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to certain uses. Some of these rights may be limited where I have a legal or professional obligation to retain clinical records. To make a request, contact me at hello@mickylaurietherapy.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
